2011/04/05 #3: Supporting open formats on the mailing list
Proposal expired, please do not modify.
Summary
As an free/open-source project run by people who support free/open-source software, we should take a stand by only allowing open formats on the mailing list.
Proposed by: Francis Tyers
Seconded by: Mlforcada
In detail
Posts with the following formats would be rejected from the mailing list: .doc, .docx, .pptx, .ppt, .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .pptx, .pptm
In order to add further formats to be rejected, a new proposal will need to be made.

- Why don't we reject closed formats as a whole? Is it really necessary to list all the formats? I will support this proposal, but I would like it to be more generic to avoid having to have a new proposal to avoid further closed formats. --fsanchez 08:26, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- It's easier to have a list, than to define what is open/closed. - Francis Tyers 08:30, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
