Both the apertium-es-ro
and apertium-ca-ro
language pairs use the Unicode code points for 'ț' and 'ș' (that is 't' and 's' with comma) which supported by the Romanian Academy in place of 't' and 's' with cedilla. These are supported in most operating systems, apart from Microsoft™'s Windows™ operating systems prior to Windows™ Vista™. Here are some links that can help users of these older versions use the official characters:

We would however discourage the use of non-free software and encourage a switch to a free operating system such as a distribution of GNU/Linux.
