 The usage of the definite article is quite difficult to infer, and in some cases the grammatical cases of Serbo-Croatian do not translate clearly to prepositional constructions in macedonian (the problem with partitive vs. possesive genitive). Serbo-Croatian adjectives have a definiteness characteristic which is analogous to the definiteness in Macedonian (ortographically visible only in the masculine and neuter gender), and this was particularly useful in translation. Nouns' definiteness can be inferred from accompanying demonstrative pronouns, however there is no straightforward way to assign the definiteness which marks a subject previously introduced in a discourse.
 For partitive/possesive genitive distinction we have decided to make a wordlist has to be made of nouns that signify quantity, and one of words that can be quantified. This is a work in progress.
 Since the word order in both languages is very free, problems also appear with long-distance relationships of words. In example, if a noun changes gender in translation nothing guarantees that it's modifier (adjective, pronoun) will, since it can be anywhere in the sentence (this could be solved with dependency parsing in the Constraint Grammar module).
+Another problem is the adverbial adjective for perfective verbs, which doesn't exist in Macedonian. It should be translated as a descriptive phrase with aorist, however it does not carry number or person information per se.
 While our transfer rules partially cover some of these problems, there is still work to be done.

The analysis has two modes; for the ekavian and ijekavian reflex of yat. The lexicon was constructed to match the Macedonian dictionary, which contains words from a frequency list made from SETimes. In my knowledge it's currently the only open source morphological analyser available for Croatian.

In my knowledge it's currently the only open source morphological analyser available for Croatian, probably also Bosnian and Serbian. I am quite happy with it, and after some proofing I'll continue to work on expanding the lexicon.
